No adult conceptions of elements and principles
Exploration in expressing ideas
Marks like letters
Build and become more comprehensive just like language

Age 7- stick person, gender differences
Adult perceptions can kill art expression
Encourage imagination while making observations

9/16/08 Class 5: Lesson Planning/ Standards
Changes in wiki requirements
Lesson Template located on wiki
Lesson concept= nig idea
Standards- determined by state
Objective= What you want a student to do
NOT AN ACTIVITY!
Assessment= how you are measuring learning, can be qualitative/quantitative
Materials= everything used to teach the lesson
Anticipatory set= how you start the lesson to get students interested
Activating prior knowledge= Finding out what student know, where they are at, do they understand? (Check for experience)
Procedure= everything that will be done, step by step (Shoot for balance between teacher actions and students actions
Teacher actions include hook
Closure= summarizing, wrapping up class, might mention what will happen next class, etc.
Review lesson plan assignment (how to write standards- section, grade, letter)
